Privacy Policy
Policy effective date: 28 September 2026. The page-change date is shown at the foot of this page.
This policy covers the public ChatToAnyone website at chattoanyone.com: the home page, the guides and comparisons, the research dataset, and the product, pricing, safety and legal pages. It explains what this site collects, which cookies and browser storage it uses, how advertising works here, who processes data for us, and how to exercise your rights. The chat itself, at chattoanyone.com/chat, has its own chat privacy notice covering accounts, messages, photos and payments. Where the two overlap, such as the analytics choice, they describe the same system.
Who we are
ChatToAnyone is operated by Acefina LLC ("we", "us"). Acefina LLC is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@chattoanyone.com. Our other contact routes are on the Contact page.
What this website collects
Reading this website does not require an account, and the site has no newsletter form, comment box or contact form. We do not ask for your name or email address to read anything. The data processed while you browse is technical:
- Connection data. Like every website, our servers and our network provider, Cloudflare, receive your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested and the time. Cloudflare also tells us your approximate country. We use this to deliver pages, protect the service from abuse and apply regional rules, such as which consent choices apply to you.
- Analytics, where allowed. Google Analytics 4 measures page views, referral source, approximate country and device type. It also records a click on a "start chat" button, with the button's source label and the page it was on. PostHog's EU service may count page views and referring domains, on the same regional terms as Google Analytics. The details and your choices are set out below.
- Advertising, on guide pages only. On the pages listed under Advertising and cookies, Google AdSense may be loaded for visitors who are not signed in to ChatToAnyone Plus. Google then processes data under its own policies.
- What you send us. If you email one of our addresses, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to deal with your message.
Analytics and your choice
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. Our configuration turns off Google signals and ad-personalization signals for analytics. Use "Analytics choices" at the bottom of any page to allow or decline analytics, or to change your mind. The choice is remembered for up to 180 days. Where an opt-in is required, Google analytics storage stays denied until you allow it, although limited cookieless requests may still be sent. A browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal stops our Google tag from loading at all. Advertising consent is managed separately, as described below.
How the choice is presented depends on where you are. In the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Brazil, analytics and advertising both start denied until you choose. If we cannot tell which country you are in, our own banner asks you as well. On a guide that carries advertising, Google's certified consent platform is the only banner, and we follow the analytics answer you give it. On our other pages, our own "Analytics choices" banner asks. Everywhere else, analytics and Google's advertising signals start enabled, and you can switch analytics off at any time with the "Analytics choices" control. That control stays available in every region, and Google's own notice covers US state privacy rights. In every region, a browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal keeps everything denied and overrides both banners. Your approximate country comes from your network connection when the page loads. It is used only to pick which of these rules applies, and it is not stored as part of an analytics profile.
We also use PostHog's EU service for page-view counts and referring domains. In the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Brazil, and whenever we cannot tell which country you are in, PostHog runs only after you allow analytics. Everywhere else it starts enabled, like Google Analytics, and stops as soon as you decline with "Analytics choices". It uses a random identifier in session storage to connect visits and feature use within the same browser tab, including a return from checkout. It does not identify your account, create person profiles or set analytics cookies. The identifier is cleared when you decline analytics or close the tab. PostHog does not receive page text, query strings, chat messages or session recordings, and it respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Network requests still reveal your IP address to the service so it can respond. Page-view identifiers are not verified unique people.
Advertising and cookies
We show Google AdSense advertising to help fund the free guides. Ads can load only on these pages: Best Omegle alternatives, Best random video chat apps, Best Character.AI alternatives. Ads do not load on the home page, the product and pricing pages, the Safety Center, this policy or our other legal pages, or anywhere inside the chat at /chat.
On an eligible page, a small script first asks our own billing service whether this browser is signed in to ChatToAnyone Plus. It loads Google's ad code only when the answer is "not signed in" or "signed in on the Free plan". If our billing check fails or the network is unavailable, the ad code is not loaded, so a Plus subscriber is never shown ads because of an error.
When the ad code does load, the following applies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's My Ad Center (Ads Settings). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info, the Digital Advertising Alliance's consumer opt-out tool.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's certified consent management platform appears on ad-carrying guides and asks for the choices required before personalized advertising. You can change that choice later through the same "Analytics choices" control, which reopens Google's consent message on those pages. Elsewhere, you can use Google's controls above or your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Ads remain clearly separate from our editorial recommendations, and no advertiser pays for a ranking. See our Disclosure page.
Cookies and browser storage we use
The table lists the cookies and browser-storage keys our own code sets on chattoanyone.com, including inside the chat, together with the third-party cookies that can appear. None of our own keys is used for advertising. Essential items make the site and chat work. Optional items depend on your analytics or advertising choice.

We do not use Meta, X, TikTok or other retargeting pixels. The only advertising network on this site is Google's.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare: network delivery, TLS, security, approximate country detection and, when configured for the chat, some AI model requests.
- Google: Google Analytics 4 (where allowed), AdSense on guide pages, and Google's consent management platform.
- PostHog (EU): page-view and product-event counts, on the same regional terms as Google Analytics.
- Stripe: checkout and billing for ChatToAnyone Plus. We never receive or store your card number.
- Resend: sends sign-in emails when you choose to save a chat account with your email address.
- OpenRouter: routes chat messages to the language models behind the AI companions. The models receive the conversation text needed to reply.
- OpenAI: when configured, its moderation service checks chat messages and every uploaded photo before anything is shown. Photo sharing is switched off entirely when it is not configured.
The website and chat run on our own server with our own database; we do not use a third-party database service. The providers above are based in, or process data in, the United States, the EU and other countries where they operate, so using this site can mean your data is processed outside your own country.
How long we keep data
- Analytics data is kept by Google and PostHog under their retention settings. It is used only in aggregate.
- Server and security logs are kept to operate and protect the service, and are never used for advertising.
- Our privacy-safe daily counters hold numbers, not people. Short-lived receipts used to prevent double counting are deleted after 30 days.
- Chat accounts, messages and payment records follow the chat privacy notice. In summary: chats stay until you delete them or choose automatic deletion. Abandoned anonymous identities are deleted automatically after a period of inactivity, once nothing depends on them, such as a saved chat, a block or an open safety report. Safety evidence is kept only as long as necessary.
- Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
Sale and sharing of personal data
We do not sell personal data for money, and we do not rent or trade email addresses. Some US state laws treat personalized-advertising cookies as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". The Google ad cookies on our guide pages can fall under that definition. To opt out, use Google's ad controls or the DAA tool linked above, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, which our site honors.
Children
The website is general informational content and is not directed at children under 13. The ChatToAnyone chat blocks users under 13, limits ages 13 to 17 to clearly labeled AI companions with higher privacy protections, and reserves matching with other people for adults where it is available. We do not knowingly use personal data from under-18s for personalized advertising. The chat surface carries no ads at all. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email privacy@chattoanyone.com and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@chattoanyone.com. Tell us which part of the service your request relates to, such as the website, a chat account or a Plus subscription. For analytics, give the approximate dates and country of your visits so we can ask Google to remove the matching data. We may need to confirm that a request comes from the account holder before acting on it. You can also withdraw analytics consent immediately with "Analytics choices", and clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site's data practices change, for example when a provider is added or removed or ads move to different pages. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and the date at the foot of the page shows the latest edit.
