How matching works

Real people are matched only when two compatible adults are waiting at once.

Compatible eligible adults are placed into the same private room. The matchmaker pairs people who chose the same language (Plus members can also ask for someone who picked the same topic), and it never inserts an AI participant into a room presented as human.

If nobody compatible is available, you can keep waiting, start a separately labeled AI conversation, or leave. Whatever you choose, never share your real name, address, workplace, contact details or payment information.

What ChatToAnyone is, and what it is not

ChatToAnyone is a free, browser-based, one-to-one text chat. You open it, choose a language and an optional topic, and talk. An eligible adult can be matched with another person who is looking for a conversation at the same time. Anyone aged 13 or over can talk with an AI companion that is labeled as AI for the whole conversation. There is no signup form, no camera and no public profile.

It is not a dating product, it has no adult mode, and it is not a crisis or therapy service. It also does not pretend to be busier than it is: when no compatible person is online, the product says so and offers a labeled AI instead of quietly passing a bot off as a person.

Who it is for

People who want a real conversation without a feed or a profile. One person, one conversation, and you can leave whenever it has run its course.
People practicing a language. Twelve languages are supported, and the Practice English topic places learners from any language into an English conversation.
People who need to get something off their chest. A stranger with no stake in your life can be easier to talk to than a friend. The venting page is honest about where that helps and where it does not.
People who prefer AI at 3am. The companion is available immediately and never claims to be human.

Four rules the product is built around

You always know whether it is a person or AI. The label is applied by the server, not written by the model, and a person's conversation is never silently handed to a bot.
Messages are checked before they are delivered. Automated moderation screens every message, from people and from AI, and if the check cannot run, the message is not delivered and the app asks you to send it again.
Different ages get different doors. Under-13s are blocked, ages 13 to 17 get labeled AI only, and person-to-person matching is for adults where it is available. It is not offered in the United Kingdom.
Anonymous for other users, honest about what the service processes. Other people see a random alias. The service still processes connection data such as IP address and approximate country for security and regional rules, as the privacy policy explains.

What it costs

The conversation is free, with no trial timer and no message counter. ChatToAnyone Plus is an optional subscription at $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year for people who come back to an AI companion: it keeps 60 messages in mind instead of 20, replies in more detail from a stronger model and picks a saved chat back up, with searchable history and no ads on the guides. Plus is for adults 18+. The pricing page sets out exactly what Plus does and does not change.
