What “anonymous” actually means here
Most sites that advertise anonymous chat still ask for an email, or quietly fingerprint you into an account. We would rather tell you exactly where the line is, because “anonymous” is a word people use loosely and you deserve the specifics.

- No name, phone number, email address, or social login is required to start. An anonymous session is created for you and you are given a randomly generated alias.
- The other person sees the alias, nothing more
- They cannot see your email, location, IP address, or any other conversation you have had. There is no public profile to click through to.

- There is no video mode to be pressured into. Your face and your voice are not part of this product.
- What we do keep, and for how long
- Messages are stored so a conversation survives a dropped connection, and so a report can be investigated. They are pruned on a schedule. Abandoned anonymous accounts are cleaned up automatically.
- Where anonymity stops
- Every message is screened before it is shown. If someone sends something illegal, anonymity does not protect them — we preserve the evidence and act on it. That is the trade that keeps the room usable.
Why no signup makes the conversation better
An account changes how people talk. When there is a profile attached, conversations turn into performance — you are managing an impression, and so is the other person.
Strip the profile out and something different happens. People say the thing they actually meant. They ask the question they were embarrassed to ask. They talk about the day they had instead of the day they would like you to think they had.
That is the whole argument for anonymous chat, and it is why the signup form is not hiding one screen deeper.

Anonymous is not invisible to the service
No public profile is created and another participant does not receive your identity. The service still assigns an anonymous ID, processes your IP address and approximate country for security and regional safety rules, and stores messages for recent-chat continuity and moderation. Those operational details are explained in the privacy notice instead of being hidden behind the word anonymous.

Anonymous, not unmoderated
Anonymity is often used as a synonym for “anything goes”. It is not one here. Every message — from a person or from an AI companion — is classified before it is displayed to anyone, and the check fails closed: if it cannot get a verdict, the message does not appear.
This is a safe-for-work product. There is no adult mode, no “uncensored” toggle, and no plan to add one. You can block or report anyone in two taps, and a block is remembered so you are not matched with them again.

Is this anonymous chat really free?
Yes. Anonymous text chat is free with no account and no trial timer. No paid plan is required to use the conversation options described on this page.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs in your browser on a phone or a laptop. You can add it to your home screen if you want it to feel like an app, but there is nothing to install.
Can the other person find out who I am?
Not from the product. They see a randomly generated alias and your messages. The risk is what you type — a real name, a workplace, a school, a social handle, or a photo can identify you no matter how the site is built. Do not share those.
Do you log IP addresses?
Connection metadata is handled at the server and edge as it is on any website, and is used for abuse prevention and rate limiting, not to build a profile or to show you to anyone else. It is never shown to the person you are chatting with.
How old do I have to be?
Under-13s are not permitted at all. Chatting with a clearly labelled AI companion is available from 13. Human matching is 18+ and is offered only where it is available.
What languages does it work in?
Twelve: English, Español, Português, हिन्दी, اردو, العربية, Bahasa Indonesia, Français, Deutsch, 日本語, Türkçe and Русский. The interface and the conversation both follow your choice, including right-to-left layout for Urdu and Arabic.
