Disclosure is the feature
A lot of companion products are built on a soft deception: the model is coached to stay in character, and if you ask whether it is real it deflects. That converts well and it is indefensible.
Ours is stamped as an AI by the server, not by the model, so nothing you type and nothing it generates can remove the badge. Ask it directly and it will tell you it is an AI. If a reply ever drifted toward claiming to be human, it is caught and replaced before you see it.
This is also the law where a lot of our users are — the EU AI Act requires it, and so does California SB 243 — but we would do it anyway.

What it is like to talk to
It is a conversation, not a command line. The companion has a fixed personality and a consistent backstory — the same hometown, the same cat, the same job every time you meet it — so it does not reinvent itself mid-sentence the way an unprompted chatbot does.
It answers in your language natively rather than translating out of English, which matters a great deal in Urdu, Hindi and Arabic and is where most free companion products fall apart.

Looking for a person first. If no one's around, a labeled AI companion will join.

- No adult mode, no roleplay jailbreak, no “uncensored” tier. If that is what you are looking for this is the wrong product and we would rather say so on the landing page than after you sign up.
- Human matching, where available
- This is not an AI-only product. Eligible adults can also look for an actual person in regions where human matching is enabled, subject to current traffic and safety controls.

The usual reasons people go looking are the waiting room at peak times, the filter arriving without warning mid-conversation, and the cost of the subscription. We can be honest about which of those we fix.
There is no subscription needed to start talking. There is a content policy and it is not going to loosen — it is a safe-for-work product and always will be. What you get instead is disclosure you can trust, twelve languages, and an optional human-matching route for eligible adults where it is available.

What an AI companion is not
It is software. It does not know you, it is not a therapist, and it should not be your only source of support. It is genuinely good at being available at 3am and genuinely bad at being a substitute for a person who loves you.
Everything it generates is screened before it reaches you, and the screen fails closed. It is available from age 13; matching with real people is 18+ and offered only where it is available.

Is the AI chat free?
Yes. No account, trial, subscription, or card is required to start an AI conversation.
Will it ever pretend to be a human?
No. The AI label is applied by the server and cannot be removed by anything the model generates or anything you type. Ask it and it will tell you it is an AI. A reply that claimed otherwise is caught and replaced before display.
Is this a Character.AI alternative?
For a free, always-disclosed, safe-for-work companion — yes. The product also offers human matching to eligible adults where it is available, which Character.AI does not. If you want unrestricted adult roleplay, no: that is not what this is and it will not become it.
Which AI model is behind it?
Open models served through a US-headquartered provider allowlist, chosen per language because no single free model handles Urdu, Hindi and Arabic as well as it handles English. The routing is pinned rather than allowed to fall back silently.
Does it remember our conversation?
Within the current conversation, yes. If you start a new conversation, do not assume it remembers what was said in an earlier one.
Is there an NSFW mode?
No, and there is no plan for one. This is safe for work by design.
